Burned 2

Zuko sat on his throne. He looked around. It was so quiet. Lonely. The huge wall of flame was getting rather annoying. Zuko could feel sweat drip off him. He hated that feeling. He quickly did away with the flames. Better. Zuko leaned up against one of the pillars. It felt cool under his skin.

He heard the swish of the curtain open fallowed by foot steps. He looked up. It was Mai.
He got up.

"Mai!" He said over joyed

Mai came closer. Did a quick bow. "May I ask an audience with you, my lord?" she said in a mock tone.

Zuko smirked.

"I am quite busy, being fire lord, but I guess." He did a huge bounding leap off the platform and laded a couple feet from Mai.

"You are my girlfriend after all". He walked up and wrapped his arms around her. She was so soft in his arms. "Don't forget it" Mai said.

She stretched up and a kissed him.

"So what have you been doing?" Zuko asked

"Nothing. It's so boring with you being Mr. Fire lord all day." Mai answered

"Ty-lee came back yesterday. I thought you'd be with her?'' Zuko asked puzzled

"She went to see your sister in the loony bin" she said laughing

Zuko's face became very sober. "Oh" He let his hands slip for Mai's hips and took a step back.

"What's wrong?" Mai asked

"It's just. Azula." Zuko trailed off.

"If you ask me, she had it coming. She deserves it-"

"Well nobody asked you!" Zuko spat. Mai's face got hard.

"You don't know what your talking about. You don't know Azula as well as I do. You don't know what she's been through."

"Sorry, I just assumed.." Mai began but again was cut off
""You assumed what? You assumed I'd just let her rot. You assumed she meant nothing to me? For crying out loud! She's my little sister!" Zuko was screaming.

"I'm sorry" Mai whispered.

Zuko stared at her for a minute. He turned away from her. "I never asked for this to happen. I never wanted to have to fight my sister. What my father did to her. So long ago-"

Footstep approached. A servant came in running.

"Fire lord Zuko! I have important news!"

"Can't it wait?" Zuko asked annoyed

"It's about your mother." The servant continued ignoring Zuko.

"She's been found".
